Inspired by a children’s story about the origins of the aurora borealis, Legend of the Northern Lights takes you on a spectacular journey with rich and vibrant displays of the Northern Lights set against majestic landscapes of the North. The work features original music by Grammy–nominated composer, Christopher Theofanidis, and an awe-inspiring film of NASA and Canadian Space Agency images produced by Emmy-nominated astronomer and visual artist, Dr. José Francisco Salgado. The evening also includes one of the greatest “unfinished” masterworks of all time and Prokofiev’s enchanting symphony originally commissioned for a children’s radio program.
